Benfenati, Secretary Fisascat-Cisl “No respect for negotiation procedures, we will get to the end”
A few days ago, a bolt from the blue struck four female workers employed in chairside service at the Dental Clinic that operates every morning at the Ferrara office in Via Montebello 31 when they received a letter of dismissal.
The sender, employer of the interested parties, is Servizi in Sanità Srl, a company that for years has been awarded the ASL contract for the chairside assistant service, which currently employs eleven people at the centre in via Montebello.
No prior communication of the company's intention was made to the Fisascat-Cisl category, the only representative of the chair assistants at the center.
The news came as a complete surprise since, following a delay in the payment of workers' wages last month, the category that promptly took action was told that it was simply a lack of liquidity due to a delay in payment and the situation was resolved in just a few days.
“The company’s behavior was shameful,” says Fisascat-Cisl Ferrara General Secretary Luca Benfenati. “Servizi in Sanità Srl chose to fire the workers behind their backs, warning them by registered mail and lacking any contractual correctness. Not giving any notice to the union to which they belong, effectively prevented any attempt to introduce the most appropriate social safety nets for the situation.”
“Not to mention that this dismissal has a social value since it will negatively impact the waiting times for visits of the numerous people who turn to the center on Via Montebello.”
The Fisascat-Cisl Secretary concludes: “We have made an urgent request for a meeting with the management, if we do not get exhaustive answers we will contact all the institutions and take legal action”.
