The series “Counterfeiting of food, clothing and accessories” begins tomorrow.
The events will begin tomorrow in Codigoro from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Sant'Eurosia Auditorium; they will continue in Cento on November 27th, again from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Palazzo del Governatore; and they will conclude on December 11th, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, with the final meeting at the Ferrara Chamber of Commerce.
The aim of these meetings is to raise awareness of counterfeiting and how to combat it.
Citizens must be seen as consumers, not as customers ready to buy. Consumers must be educated about consumption because consuming itself is an educational process, and I believe that one of the tasks of consumer associations is precisely that of building consumer awareness through education and information, because consumers have the power to choose and it is they who make the difference.
Counterfeiting and illegal trading are criminal activities; very often, this awareness is lacking, which harms not only the end consumer but also those who do business legally.
SELF-PROTECTION strategies for consumers begin with an awareness of these powers and knowledge of the products and the market.
