The Ferrara FNP CISL, following the unprecedented act of violence resulting in the death of pensioner Cloe Govoni and the serious injury to her daughter-in-law, expresses deep concern over the incident in a supposedly quiet area. In the past, in collaboration with Adiconsum, we have taken anti-fraud initiatives, urging pensioners to be particularly vigilant against those who break into their homes. Unfortunately, muggings and thefts targeting elderly people continue daily. The recent violent incidents in Renazzo require us to raise our guard. It will not be enough to demand, as we will, that the state (municipality and law enforcement) increase its presence in a vast, densely populated area with countless scattered homes; it will be necessary to prevent and deter acts of violence or personal harm. Therefore, in addition to reporting any unusual occurrences to law enforcement, we must also work to rebuild good neighborly relations, provide mutual assistance, and exchange information.
