The training workshop "Managing the Unmanageable. Helping Professions in a Risk Society" will be held on June 12th, starting at 8:30 a.m. in the Sala S. Francesco in Piazza S. Francesco 7.
The SIULP Ferrara (Italian Police Workers' Union) has promoted a training program together with the Italian Association of Helping Professions called "Managing the Unmanageable" and the CISL Ferrara. Through professionals, psychologists, and university professors, the program aims to create a network of relationships among all helping professions by promoting a cultural/training project dedicated to these workers whose perspective is "others."
The aim of the meeting is to create a real "critical mass", to increase the awareness and professionalism of those who work with others: in the collective conscience of our country, in fact, it is not at all clear what and what the Helping Professions are, but above all what they do and to what risks the operators are exposed.
An innovative element of the workshop is its interdisciplinary nature. “Managing the Unmanageable” was born from the work experience of law enforcement officers, health workers, firefighters, educators and all those who work in the field of “personal assistance”.
These are professional categories particularly exposed to the risk of stress, professional distress and burnout.
Helping others is the primary purpose of the Helping Professions, but the context, the working climate in which one operates, as well as the relationship established with those in need, often have very strong emotional implications that can be the source of decisive factors capable of influencing the overall health of the Helping Professions worker.
The aim is to raise public awareness, both among the general public and among authorities, of the importance of training, which in many situations, such as for law enforcement, is provided "at no cost," and of the importance of "helping even those who help for a living," by evaluating the possibility of creating a listening point for helping professions.
In line with the aims of the meeting, many professionals and political and institutional actors will be involved. The following will speak: Stefano Parziale – General Secretary of SIULP Ferrara, Paolo Baiamonte – General Secretary of CISL Ferrara, Chiara Sapigni – Councillor for Health, Personal Services and Family Policies, Mario Peruzzini – Managing the Unmanageable, Stefano Caracciolo – Professor of Clinical Psychology and Head of the DCA Centre, DSM Ausl Ferrara/Unife, Leonello Flamigni – Journalist and Host, Rossella Marchesini – Councillor of the Emilia Romagna Order of Social Workers, Mario Ravaglia – Director of the Emergency Room and Emergency Medicine Lugo, Marco Ravaioli – SIULP Delegate, Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, Hon.
