Servizi in Sanità Srl is demonstrating the utmost disregard for its workers.

In fact, two weeks ago, the company, which for years had been a contractor to the Local Health Authority for dental assistant services, delivered a letter of dismissal to four of the eleven workers employed for "economic reasons."

The workers had not received any prior notice of this dismissal, nor had any communication been sent to their union, Fisascat-Cisl.

Luca Benfenati, secretary of Fisascat-Cisl Ferrara, warns that "the company's attitude, which from the beginning had proven absolutely uncooperative and incorrect, having prevented, through its lack of communication, the search for and implementation of any form of social safety net, is gradually confirmed."

The same goes on to explain that "Fisascat, immediately taking action, requested a meeting with Servizi in Sanità Srl to seek fair solutions for the workers, but the meeting was refused by the employer, arguing that it has no obligation to inform or consult with the trade unions."

"But Servizi in Sanità Srl," continues the Fisascat secretary, "is significantly failing to meet its obligations, unable to meet the needs of the Local Health Authority (ASL) with a reduced staff. The result? On the one hand, a poor service to citizens in a sensitive area such as healthcare, and on the other, an attempt to circumvent employment protection regulations. The company, unable to address the staff shortage in any other way and, following the layoff, prohibited from hiring new staff over the next six months, is relying on an intern and an intern, as well as temporary staff."

"The situation is shameful," Benfenati concludes, "and we don't intend to allow such blatant injustices to pass. Following the company's refusal, we have requested a meeting with the institutions involved, and if necessary, we will also take legal action."
