On the occasion of May 1st, Labour Day, trade unions celebrate, so that the historical and political values of the anniversary are not forgotten.<\/p>\n
The event begins at 3 pm in Piazza Municipale, which will see the award ceremony for two classes from the province who participated in the "Schoolmates, World Companions" competition.<\/p>\n
The concert of the school student bands will follow.<\/p>\n
The groups showed great enthusiasm and participation.<\/p>\n
Eight bands will take turns on stage this year: Liquid Shades, Sheska, Kozmic Floor, Scapadizz, Duck Straw, Maniax N'90, Backwater, Defiants' Cage.<\/p>\n
"We're pleased with the youth's desire to participate," explains CISL Ferrara General Secretary Paolo Baiamonte. "We remember that May Day is an event steeped in history and meaning; it is the milestone, the starting point, of the demand that more than any other represented the fundamental right to worker dignity: the eight-hour workday, and with its celebration, the memory of the Chicago martyrs of May 1, 1886.<\/p>\n
