In recent weeks, the legal gaming sector trade unions FILCAMS CGIL, FISASCAT CISL and UILTUCS Nazionale have urged the Minister of Economic Development Luigi di Maio to set up an institutional roundtable on the sector's crisis. This roundtable will measure the effects of the measures on legal gaming and identify solutions aimed at safeguarding employment and protecting workers.
As part of the national mobilization day jointly called by FILCAMS CGIL, FISASCAT CISL and UILTUCS, the regional structures of Emilia Romagna are organizing a
PRESIDIO which will be held from 11.00 in front of the PREFECTURE of Bologna
The trade unions, together with the CGIL-CISL-UIL Confederations of Emilia Romagna, have always shared the need to intervene in the sector to make gaming opportunities compatible with social sustainability, combat gambling addiction, and fight illegality.
The Emilia-Romagna region has legislated on this matter, adopting widely supported legislation. Difficulties are being encountered in managing the transition phase, which is being addressed through discussions with the trade unions, aimed at safeguarding employment levels while fully complying with regional regulations.
We state with great clarity and transparency that the right balance must be found between employment protection and the fight against gambling addiction, with rules that promote fair gaming, in suitable, controllable environments that are not subject to the degradation of illegality, where trained and adequately paid personnel work in full compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
In this regard, we want to clarify that our mobilization is called entirely independently and has nothing to do with other initiatives, launched in recent days, by other entities that exploit workers to pursue objectives of a different nature.
We reiterate the absolute necessity of respecting the rules, legality, the correct application of collective bargaining agreements, and the employment and protection of workers employed in the sector.
We want a fair game: work, good work, health and legality.
