Saturday, March 19th from 10:00 am at 12.00  Municipal Square

Where will there be the national demonstration which will collect all the workers of the ENI group in Northern Italy, to reiterate to ENI and the Government its opposition to the industrial choices of the ENI group.

FILCTEM, FEMCA, and UILTEC Nazionali emphasize the importance of this joint demonstration to urge the Government and ENI not to abandon the Italian chemical industry by selling their majority stake in Versalis, to support the country's energy policy, and to relaunch Saipem.

It is disconcerting that ENI, a company of international standing, wants to entrust the ownership of its chemical activities (VERSALIS) to a small financial fund rather than foreseeing the involvement of Deposits and Loans Fund to safeguard public control of a company that is strategic for the country's future.

ENI's industrial disengagement will lead to an economic weakening of the entire Italian chemical and manufacturing sector, including the Po Valley, the Ferrara petrochemical plant, and all its subsidiaries, as well as contractors.

For these reasons We invite all workers to be present at the demonstration on Saturday to show the Government that they are aware that the choices they make will have direct and negative repercussions on their future and that of their families.

National category secretaries Emilio Miceli, Angelo Colombini, and Paolo Pirani will be present. The Mayor of Ferrara, Tiziano Tagliani, will speak.

In conjunction with the event a strike is called from 10am to 6pm on the plants Versalis.
