The Territorial Secretariat of Pensioners FNP – CISL of FERRARA and the RLS of the District WEST of Ferrara, together with the Volunteer Association ANTEAS by Reno Centese, express their deep satisfaction with the Council of State's decision to avoid the closure of small post offices, including Reno Centese, Montesanto, and Masi San Giacomo.
The satisfaction we express, as an Organization of pensioners and volunteers, is to see the arguments that were at the basis of the opposition to the closure accepted, with the recognition that it is a matter of an essential public service, especially for the elderly and the weakest.
In this regard, we would like to draw attention to the significance of the Council of State's decision. This cannot be considered the conclusion of a major administrative action (whose importance is recognized). but the fruit of many opposition initiatives by citizens, started over a year ago, to which FNP and ANTEAS also contributed in a convinced and decisive manner and that the Municipal Administrations have assumed.
This result should also make us reflect so that also on other services with social functions, not of national scope, high attention and vigilance must be maintained, trying to prevent choices that have the sole objective of the corporate interest of those providing the service and not that of the user of the service.
