In the Italian dictionary, the definition of the term femicide reads as follows:
“Any form of violence systematically exercised against women in the name of a patriarchal ideological superstructure, with the aim of perpetuating their subordination and annihilating their identity through physical or psychological subjugation, to the point of slavery or death.”
In a few words, "Killing a woman or a girl." We women continue to die, at the hands of men. Out of hatred, because they can't accept the end of a love story, because they don't understand the meaning of "no."
A candlelight vigil for Cinzia and for all the women who are victims of silent violence today, so that they may know that they are not and will never be alone, because we will always be there to support them, because we will always fight alongside them.
Until the day every man understands that a woman is a person free to think, free to make choices, free to live.
