“The inclusion of foreign students and their families”: this is the title of the conference organized by Cisl Ferrara for Friday 5 September from 9:30 to approximately 13:30 at the Chamber of Commerce.
The theme has now become transversal to all school levels, with repercussions on the social integration of immigrant and second-generation children present in our country. For this reason, the new "Guidelines for the reception and integration of foreign students" were published in February 2014, which establish, among other things, criteria for the distribution of school enrollments.
Therefore, the Cisl of Ferrara proposes a reflection with the presence of exponents of the national political scene, such as Senator Maria Teresa Bertuzzi and the Undersecretary of State Giuseppe Castiglione, and technicians of the sector such as the technical school manager of the Emilia Romagna Region Luciano Rondanini and the head of the Foreign Students Office of the Municipality of Ferrara Laura Lepore. The National Secretary Pietro Cerrito and the General Secretary of the Emilia Romagna Region Giorgio Graziani will speak for the Cisl.
«Given the centrality of the school as a place for building one's own identity and sharing common rules and the significant presence of foreign students in the province of Ferrara which stands at around 11.6% of the school population» underlines the Provincial Secretary Paolo Baiamonte «it is necessary to adopt suitable school and housing policies in order to avoid the phenomena of ghettoization of the foreign presence in certain areas of the city and in some schools»
Participation in the conference is recognized as training credit for teachers.
