The transfer of ownership itself consists of two consecutive steps: the deed of sale and its registration.
The seller's signature on the deed of sale can be authenticated by a municipal employee or, more conveniently, by an authorised person at a motor vehicle registration agency that owns the Sportello Telematico dell'Automobilista (STA), which can also proceed with the registration.
The Centro Auto Pratiche Cisl is the owner of the STA counter and therefore, once registration has been completed, it will issue the updated certificate of ownership (in digital format as per the 2015 regulations) and the label for updating the vehicle registration document to the provincial office of the Civil Motorisation Office (UMC).
