RENEWAL OF TERTIARY DISTRIBUTION AND SERVICES CONTRACTS, GUARINI: «EFFECTIVE ECONOMIC AND REGULATORY RESPONSE TO THE NEEDS OF MILLIONS OF WORKERS IN THE MAIN SECTOR OF THE ITALIAN ECONOMY»
Rome, March 22, 2024 – «The agreements for the renewal of the National Contracts for the tertiary, distribution and services sector reached today after four years with Confcommercio and Confesercenti represent an important advance in the system of trade union relations in the sector and effectively respond to the needs of millions of workers in the main sector of the Italian economy, with the recognition of adequate economic treatment that restores purchasing power to wages and with the definition of new rights and contractual protections». This is how the general secretary of Fisascat Cisl Davide Guarini comments on the draft agreements signed with the employers' associations Confcommercio and Confesercenti. «Our hope – added the trade unionist – is to continue along the path of bargaining and to renew as soon as possible the other important national contracts attributable to the tertiary macro-sector, those of modern organised distribution and cooperative distribution, where hundreds of thousands of other workers are waiting for economic and regulatory responses».
The unionist also commented on the statements of the President of the Cnel Renato Brunetta. «The invitation of the National Council of Economy and Labor to present the agreements in this important institutional venue is positive – he declared – a natural meeting place for the Social Parties and for the development of bargaining, an opportunity that we will be able to seize in the coming weeks in order to fully disseminate the contents of the renewals».
The deputy general secretary of Fisascat Cisl Vincenzo Dell'Orefice underlined that «the negotiation was complex» and that «the results achieved by it were above all the fruit of the generous contribution given to the dispute by the strike of the workers held last December 22». «The reasons for that mobilization – concluded the unionist – have finally produced a real and concrete advancement for one of the most numerous and important categories in Italy».
